Peterborough Petes News Release
(Peterborough, ON) - The Petes earned their first road win since November, and first win in Oshawa since February 2017, with a commanding 8-4 victory against the archrival Generals on Friday night at the Tribute Communities Centre.
2018 NHL Draft-eligible forwards Semyon Der-Arguchintsev and Pavel Gogolev lead the way for the Petes. Der-Arguchintsev (1g, 4a) set a career high with five points, while Gogolev (3g, 1a) scored his third hat trick of the season. Bobby Dow (1g,2a) and Cole Fraser (2a) also had multi-point nights, with a total of 11 Petes getting on the scoreboard.
Rookie goaltender Hunter Jones snapped a personal winless streak with yet another solid performance between the pipes. It was his second straight game breaking the 40 save plateau, but only his first win since starting his OHL career with a 2-0 record.
Nikita Korostelev and Gogolev both scored their 30th goals of the season, joining captain Logan DeNoble in the exclusive club. It is the first time since 2005-06 that three Petes have scored 30 or more goals in a season (Jamie Tardif, Daniel Ryder, and Jordan Morrison).
Join the Petes for the final game of 2017-18, including an overage player ceremony and Gary Parnell's retirement celebration, with a Petes Playoff Push Flex Pack, that gives fans four regular bowl tickets to use at the game, along with a voucher for four popcorns and four pops, for just $69.99 (a $124 value). Visit the Box Office or call (705) 743-3681 ext. 263 to get your package.
