Alaska Wild News Release
An injury laden Alaska Wild had a tough time with a healthy play-off bound Wichita Wild. Even though Alaska scored first on a 45 yd field goal by Mac Pennington, it would be the only score until Demarcus James returned his league leading 9th kick-off return for a touchdown in the 2nd qtr.
Alaska's woes only got worse when corner Darrel Pilcher went out early in the first quarter and Wichita took quick advantage of a rookie corner. The last play of the first half spelled certain doom when Demarcus James, pulling double duty as a receiver, dislocated his left elbow and he was not able to return for the second half. The injuries kept mounting as the game wore on. Final score Wichita 76, AK 9
Coach Rodriguez said, "We need to get healthy quick this coming week, we should have the return of Tui Aleilefaleula, Tony Lolesio, and Edwin James. We have our final game of the season against Fairbanks at home at the Sullivan, on the 9th of July, 7:00pm. We need every AK Wild fan to be in attendance, we need that 9th man to pull off this win." Let's make this picture complete with you, the fans!!!
