
Denver Cutthroats Top Notch in Seven of the CHL's "Best of the Best" Categories

Denver - The Denver Cutthroats were recognized by their peer franchises in the Central Hockey League's annual "Best of the Best" poll on Wednesday, March 19. Coaches, players and operational staff from each of the CHL's franchises voted for the top three teams in 50 separate categories.
The second season Cutthroats finished in the top three in 11 of the 50 total categories, notching the CHL's top spot in seven of them. The Missouri Mavericks were the only team to finish first in more categories than the Denver Cutthroats, while the Allen Americans tied them with seven.
Denver's Garett Bembridge placed first in three categories, including Best Overall Player, Most Valuable to His Team and Best on Power Play. Fellow linesman Troy Schwab was named first in the Best Stickhandler category and third in Best on Power Play. A.J. Gale claimed the top spot for Fastest Skater and Daniel Amesbury was first for Best Fighter (Pound for Pound).
Netminder Kent Patterson was listed third for Best Goaltender and team captain Aaron MacKenzie claimed the third spot for Best Leader. Denver native Sean Zimmerman finished second in Best Defensive Defenseman.
The team's effort off of the ice was recognized as well as the Denver Cutthroats were named first for Best Use of Social Media. Denver was also voted second for the Best City, behind Allen, Texas.
