
Denver Cutthroats Secure Second Place

Allen - The Denver Cutthroats battled the Allen Americans on Friday, March 28 at Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. With a 3-2 victory, the Cutthroats secured second place in the Central Hockey League's regular season standings.
The Americans scored the opening goal of the night with a shot by Spencer Asuchak (Darryl Bootland, Daniel Tetrault). Less than 40 seconds later, Denver's Garett Bembridge (A.J. Gale, Troy Schwab) evened the score at one with a shot between Allen's posts.
Cam Reid (Daniel Amesbury, Dan Barczuk) lit up the lamp to give the Cutthroats a 2-1 lead. With one minute remaining in the second period, Greger Hanson (Jamie Schaafsma, Tyler Ludwig) tied the score at two with a shot from the circle.
Vincent Arseneau (Steve Kaunisto) fired a shot to beat the Americans netminder Bryan Pitton for the Cutthroats third and game-winning goal of the night. Denver's goaltender Kent Patterson stopped 48 of 50 shots on goal to assist in his team's 3-2 victory over Allen. Friday night's win improved the Cutthroats record to 37-16-11 and secured a second place finish in the Central Hockey League's regular season standings.
The Denver Cutthroats and Allen Americans will face off for the final time in the 2013-14 regular season on Saturday, March 29 at Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas. Following Saturday night's game, the Cutthroats will wrap up the regular season in Tulsa, Oklahoma on Sunday, March 30 against the Oilers. For the latest information, visit DenverCutthroats.com.
