North Charleston, SC - Goaltender Jared DeMichiel recorded his first professional shutout stopping all 19 shots he faced as the South Carolina Stingrays (16-14-1-1) blanked the Greenville Road Warriors (21-7-1-1) 2-0 in front of 3,252 at the North Charleston Coliseum Friday night.

Stingrays defenseman Nate Kiser opened the scoring with his first goal of the season at 6:22 of the first period blasting a shot past Greenville netminder Dov Grumet-Morris from the right-wing point. Forwards Trent Campbell and David de Kastrozza earned assists.

Forward Pierre-Luc O'Brien made it a 2-0 Stingrays lead off a Road Warriors turnover with 19 seconds remaining in the second period. O'Brien's eighth goal of the season was unassisted.

DeMichiel slammed the door in the third period stopping all five Road Warriors chances including a breakaway by forward Mark Voakes midway through the frame. Grumet-Morris picked up the loss stopping 26 of 28 Stingrays shots. Both sides ended the night 0-for-4 on the power play.
