Washington Mystics News Release
WASHINGTON, D.C. -The WNBA announced today that forward Elena Delle Donne and Head Coach Mike Thibault and his coaching staff will represent the team in the AT&T WNBA All-Star 2019. This year's game will be held at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, July 27. ABC will televise the game at 3:30 p.m. ET.
As the top vote-getter for this year's All-Star Game, Delle Donne will serve as one of the team captains and will have the chance to select the first player for her team. Entering her seventh WNBA season, Delle Donne has been named to six All-Star teams. In 2018, she helped lead Washington to a 22-12 record and a WNBA Finals appearance. This season, Delle Donne has earned two Player of the Week honors and was named the WNBA's Eastern Conference Player of the Month for June.
This will be the third All-Star Game for Thibault. The winningest coach in WNBA history, Thibault is a three-time WNBA Coach of the Year, most recently in 2013 with Washington. Under his leadership, the 2018 Washington Mystics made the first WNBA Finals appearance in franchise history following a 22-12 season. He recently was named the WNBA coach of the month for June after leading Washington to a 9-2 record for that month.
Washington (9-5) will host the Las Vegas Aces (10-5) Saturday, July 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Entertainment & Sports Arena at Congress Heights. Single game tickets start at $12 and are currently on sale. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 877.DC.HOOP1, visiting www.WashingtonMystics.com and local Ticketmaster outlets.
