"Delle Donne Skills Academy" Coming to Deerfield on May 16

CHICAGO - Chicago Sky guard/forward Elena Delle Donne will be hosting a basketball camp in Deerfield, IL on Saturday, May 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. This camp marks the final stop of her "Delle Donne Skills Academy" tour, which has already made stops in Delaware, Pennsylvania and California earlier this year. Delle Donne, a two-time WNBA All-Star and the 2013 WNBA Rookie of the Year, averaged 17.5 points and 4.0 rebounds per game for the Sky last season.
"I am excited for the opportunity to teach the same young girls that attend many of my Sky games," said Delle Donne. "I'm looking forward to getting to know them on a more personal level and to working side-by-side with them to elevate their game. I cannot wait to see all of the talented players in the Chicago area as I know it is a city with great basketball tradition."
The Skills Academy curriculum, designed by Delle Donne herself, offers girls between the ages of 7 and 18, an inside-look into some of the drills Delle Donne does in her every day basketball workout routine. Campers will be challenged to build on individual skills and develop a better understanding of teamwork and what it takes to be an elite basketball player. Delle Donne leads each camp through its entirety with the help of the area's top coaches. The academy concludes with a Q&A session with Delle Donne and all participants receive a limited edition Elena Delle Donne camp shirt, a camp photo with Delle Donne and an autographed photo of Delle Donne.
