NEWARK, DE.-February 5, 2014- Led by a game-high 28 points from Sixers assignee Lorenzo Brown, the Delaware 87ers (8-23) earned their third win in the last five games with a 128-116 victory over the Maine Red Claws (12-15) at the Bob Carpenter Center on Tuesday evening.
Brown, who was one of six 87ers to score in double figures, made eight of 13 shots from the floor and all nine of his free throw attempts as the 87ers took the wire-to-wire victory. He also tallied seven assists with four rebounds.
Matt Bouldin added 19 points with six rebounds while Vander Blue contributed 17 points while making nine of 11 free throws. In his season debut, Arnett Moultrie came off the bench to score 17 points, connecting on six of nine field goal attempts and five of six free throws.
The Red Claws, who had a three-game win streak snapped, were led by a 28-point performance from Chris Wright. He also added a game-high ten rebounds for his fourth double-double of the season.
The 87ers return to action on Friday, February 7, when they travel to Oklahoma to take on the Tulsa 66ers.
