Erie, Pennsylvania, Wednesday, February 5 - The Erie BayHawks squared off against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Wednesday afternoon in front of 4,718 fans at the Erie Insurance Arena. Erie's Ricky Davis nailed a 15-foot jumpshot with 0.8 seconds left to give Erie the game's final lead, 97-95.

The game was tightly contested in the first period before Erie (9-20) took an eight point advantage into the second frame. Fort Wayne's (16-12) Sadiel Rojas scored eight points in the second quarter and the Mad Ants cut the deficit to five at break. The BayHawks connected on 51.2% of their first half shots compared to Fort Wayne's 39.5% shooting effort.

Erie's C.J. Leslie notched eight points in the third quarter and the BayHawks boosted their lead back up to 13 with twelve minutes left in the game. Fort Wayne started the final frame with a 12-4 run, drawing within five with under five minutes remaining. The Mad Ants took their first lead since early in the game on a Ron Howard fade away jumper with two minutes remaining. The two teams exchanged baskets and were tied at 95 with 4.5 seconds left in the game. BayHawks forward Ricky Davis took a feed from Micah Downs, pulled up and nailed an elbow jumper to give Erie a two point lead with 0.8 seconds remaining. Fort Wayne's heave at the buzzer was too strong and the BayHawks escaped with a 97-95 victory.

Terence Jennings led Erie with 17 points and eight rebounds, including seven points in the final two and a half minutes. He was aided by Downs (13), Alex Oriakhi (13), Leslie (12 points, nine rebounds) and Lewis Jackson, who notched nine points and a team season-high 13 assists. Fort Wayne was paced by Howard's 25 points and seven rebounds Tony Mitchell's 18 points. Detroit Pistons assignees Peyton Siva (10 points, five assists) and Tony Mitchell (10 points, 10 rebounds) also had nice games for the Mad Ants.

The BayHawks will travel to Iowa for a Saturday night affair with the Energy while the Mad Ants head home to welcome the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Saturday.
