The 2014 North American Hockey League Top Prospects tournament got underway Monday in Troy, Michigan. Games for the day had the NAHL North taking on the NAHL South, the NAHL Midwest vs. the NAHL Central, and the futures game featuring the NAHL 18U Selects vs. the HPHL.
Wings forward #17 Davis DeKorte (F-DeWitt, MI) scored a goal in a 3-0 win for the NAHL North over the NAHL South. DeKorte was recently acquired by the Wings from the Springfield Jr. Blues, where he was previously named to the NAHL North roster.
The NAHL Central took on the NAHL Midwest winning 4-1. No Wings players scored any points in the game, but making the roster were #24 Jonathan Grebosky (F-Pittsburgh, PA), #20 Dillon Eichstadt (D-Bemidji, MN), and #4 Jake Horton (D-Plymouth, MN). Scoring for the NAHL Central team were Lukas Laub with two goals, Austin's Jay Dickman, and Bismarck's Huba Sekesi. Winning goaltender was Aaron Nelson of the Bismarck Bobcats, who made the team despite having already being committed to a college program.
Tuesday wraps up the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament with the NAHL Central taking on the NAHL South, the NAHL Midwest vs. the NAHL North.
