Defenseman Levi Reassigned to Thunder
April 6, 2015 - ECHL (ECHL)
Stockton Thunder News Release
Stockton, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, owned by the NHL's Calgary Flames and proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Islanders and the AHL's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, have been reassigned defenseman Austin Levi from the Charlotte Checkers by the Carolina Hurricanes.
Levi, 23, played in 11 games with the Checkers during his second stint in the American Hockey League this season, adding his first point in the AHL this season, an assist, on March 22 in a game against the Iowa Wild.
The former third round draft selection (85th Overall) by the Carolina Hurricanes in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft has played 15 games in the AHL this season to go along with his 43 games played in the ECHL with the Florida Everblades and Thunder.
The Aurora, Colorado native started the year playing 3 games with Florida (ECHL), before being reassigned to the Thunder by the Carolina Hurricanes as part of the agreement that sent the rights to Corey Trivino to the Everblades. In 40 games with the Thunder, Levi has registered 4 goals and 10 assists.
The Thunder continue their road trip with a couple appearances in Bakersfield this week before returning home for the final ever Stockton Thunder home game against the Bakersfield Condors on April 11 at 7:30. Get your tickets now for the Thunder and ECHL finale at Stockton Arena by calling (209) 373-1500 or by visiting StocktonThunder.com .
