
Defense and Cold Bats Betray Nuts in 5-0 Loss

Modesto, CA. - Zack Godley stifled the Modesto Nuts bats on Monday night at John Thurman Field as the Nuts fell 5-0 against the Visalia Rawhide.
Godley (W, 3-0) tossed six shutout inning and did not allow anyone to reach third while striking out seven in his start for the Rawhide (9-3).
David Hale (L, 0-1), making a rehab appearance for the Rockies worked 2.1 innings, gave up two hits and two unearned runs while striking out three and walking one.
In the second, the Nuts (5-7) committed two errors bringing in a pair of runs. In the fourth, a defensive miscue aided the Rawhide bats again. In the fifth, Kevin Cron and Stewart Ijames cracked back-to-back home runs.
The middle affair of the three-game series against the Visalia Rawhide is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. on Tuesday night. Konner Wade with chuck it for the Nuts. Righty Blayne Weller will toss for the Rawhide. Coverage on ModestoNuts.com will start at 7:00 p.m.
