Defender Mamadou Fall Returns to LAFC

Los Angeles Football Club (LAFC) announced today that defender Mamadou Fall has returned to Los Angeles after completing a loan period with La Liga's Villareal CF and will be eligible for selection beginning July 5, 2023 pending receipt of his International Transfer Certificate (ITC).

Mamadou's original loan period began on Aug. 25, 2022, and he made his debut and first start for Villareal B during the 3-0 win vs. CD Mirandés on Sep. 3, 2022.

During a nearly 12-month loan period with Villareal CF, Mamadou made 25 appearances (22 starts) and registered three goals in 1,988 minutes for Villareal B. Mamadou also made two appearances for Villareal's senior squad, including his lone appearance in the Copa Del Rey vs. St. Amalian on Nov. 12 , 2022 and his La Liga debut with Villareal during the 1-0 win vs. Girona on Jan. 22, 2023.

Fall joined LAFC at the age of 18 on June 4, 2021, from Montverde Academy in Orlando, FL.

The Senegal native appeared in a total of 35 regular season matches for the Black & Gold (29 starts) over two seasons, scoring five goals. In 2022, Fall made 16 regular season appearances (13 starts) and scored one goal before departing for Villareal.

In 2021, Fall also made eight appearances and played a total of 634 minutes while on loan with LAFC's USL affiliate club, the Las Vegas Lights.

Prior to joining the Black & Gold, Fall attended the Soccer Institute of Montverde Academy in Orlando, FL and was a teammate of 2020 LAFC signee Mohamed Traore. Fall made his way to Orlando via Salif Diao's Sport4Charity Organization based out of Dakar, Senegal, and was selected to the Senegal U17 Youth National Team in 2019.
