Defender Abby Dahlkemper Joins San Diego FC

HOUSTON - Houston Dash defender Abby Dahlkemper joins San Diego Futbol Club following the conclusion of the 2021 NWSL season, the teams announced today.

Dahlkemper joined Houston in August following a three-team trade where the Dash sent $25,000 in Allocation Money along with additional performance-based incentives to North Carolina. The trade included a portion where the defender would join San Diego after spending the remainder of the 2021 season in Texas.

Dahlkemper started in eight games for Houston and made her Dash debut against OL Reign at PNC Stadium on Sept. 1. The 28-year-old logged a full 90 minutes in each of the eight games she played for the Dash. The defender hit a major milestone in her career by playing in her 100th NWSL regular season match against the Chicago Red Stars on Sept. 10 in Houston.

Dahlkemper joined Houston from Manchester City WFC, where she appeared in eight matches for the club. Prior to that, she played for North Carolina where she earned 67 appearances and helped the Courage to three consecutive NWSL Shields and back-to-back NWSL championships in 2018 and 2019.
