
Kansas City Current Sends Four More on International Duty

KANSAS CITY - Four more players from the Kansas City Current will be representing their home nations during the upcoming November FIFA window. Following last week's announcement that midfielders Desiree Scott and Victoria Pickett will play for Canada in two matches against Mexico, the club today announced defender Rachel Corsie (Scotland), midfielder Katie Bowen (New Zealand), and forwards Jéssica Silva (Portugal) and Mariana Larroquette (Argentina) have also been called to represent their home countries.
Rachel Corsie (Scotland) - Corsie will once again captain the Scots as they sit top of the table in Group B of the FIFA World Cup UEFA Qualifiers. Scotland will host Ukraine on Friday, Nov. 26 (1:35 p.m. CT) before traveling to face Spain on Tuesday, Nov. 30 (2 p.m. CT). Corsie scored a dramatic game-winning goal in the final moments of the team's last qualifying match against Hungary. She has 127 caps and 18 scores for her home nation.
Katie Bowen (New Zealand) - New Zealand travels to South Korea for two international friendlies Friday, Nov. 26 (11 p.m. CT) and Tuesday, Nov. 30 (4 a.m. CT). Bowen is a veteran of the Football Ferns, having made her debut with the senior team at the age of 17. As a member of New Zealand's national team she has 75 caps, including three FIFA World Cup tournament (2011, 2015, 2019) and two Olympic tournament (2016, 2020) appearances.
Jéssica Silva (Portugal) - Portugal sits second in the table for the 2023 FIFA World Cup UEFA preliminary qualifying round, having won its past three matches. Silva and her teammates will be hosting two matches, Thursday, Nov. 25 (12pm CT) against Israel and Tuesday, Nov. 30 (11am CT) against Germany. Silva made her debut for the senior national team in 2010 and has tallied 77 caps and nine goals for her home side.
Mariana Larroquette (Argentina) - Larroquette heads to Ecuador with her Argentine teammates as they get set for two friendlies, Saturday, Nov. 27 (2 p.m. CT) and Tuesday, Nov. 30 (2 p.m. CT). Larroquette has 30 appearances for Argentina and 12 scores. This past season, she played in 19 games for Kansas City. Her equalizing score against NJ/NY Gotham on July 2 was voted as the fan choice for 2021 Kansas City Goal of the Year.
