Shirley Cruz Named to Costa Rica WNT for November FIFA Window

TACOMA, WA - OL Reign midfielder Shirley Cruz has been called up to the Costa Rica Women's National Team for the November FIFA international window for a friendly match against Nicaragua.

The No. 36 ranked Costa Rica Women's National Team is set to play one match over the November FIFA window against the No. 117 ranked Nicaragua. The match will take place on Tuesday, November 30 at Estadio Nacional in San José, Costa Rica. The time of the match will be announced at a later date.

Costa Rica last met Nicaragua during Concacaf Olympic qualifying in October 2019. Costa Rica came away with a 2-0 win. The teams also met the year prior in World Cup qualifying and Costa Rica also won that meeting, this time by a score of 4-1.

Cruz has been a part of the Costa Rica senior national team since 2002. Most recently, she played with Costa Rica during the October FIFA window in one match against Jamaica behind closed doors and one game against Jamaica open to the public, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
