Reign FC Falls battles Angel City FC

LOS ANGELES - Reign FC (11-9-4, 37 points) fell 3-1 to Angel City FC (10-8-6, 36 points) on Wednesday night at BMO Stadium. Seattle conceded twice from set pieces in the first half before Taylor Suarez extended Angel City's lead in the 81st minute. Sofia Huerta pulled one back late in the second half as Reign FC extended its scoring streak to a club-record 15 matches. The veteran defender also became the third player in club history to reach 10,000 regular season minutes.
Reign FC closes out its road trip against Denver Summit FC at Centennial Stadium on Saturday, September 19 (5:45 p.m. PT / ION).

ANOTHER XI: Laura Harvey listed her 19th unique starting XI through 24 matches this season. Tonight's lineup featured four changes from Saturday's 2-0 win over Bay FC: Claudia Dickey for Cassie Miller, Madison Curry for Ryanne Brown, Jess Fishlock for Sally Menti and Mia Fishel for Nerilia Mondesir.

MADISON CURRY: Madison Curry surpassed 5,000 NWSL regular season minutes tonight. The third-year defender spent her rookie season with Angel City FC in 2024 before joining Seattle ahead of the 2025 season.
SOFIA HUERTA: Sofia Huerta scored for the second consecutive match, bringing her season total to three goals and her career total to 41. She also became the third player in club history to reach 10,000 regular season minutes with Reign FC. Since joining Seattle in 2020, the veteran defender has started 111 of 113 regular season appearances, recording nine goals and 16 assists. Huerta has logged 19,222 minutes across her NWSL regular season career.
SERIES: With tonight's result, Seattle now holds an all-time record of 9-4-2 against Angel City FC across all competitions.
