Lancaster Stormers News Release

The Lancaster Barnstormers are going through a stretch where everyone produces.

On Friday night, catcher Anderson De La Rosa homered and drove in three while pinch hitter LeDarious Clark delivered a key pinch hit double as the Barnstormers topped the York Revolution, 9-5, in the opener of a four-game weekend series at People's Bank Park.

With the score tied, 5-5, Trayvon Robinson reached base against Brandon Fry (2-2) on a fielding error by shortstop Yan Sanchez to open the seventh. Third baseman Andrew Dundon made a spectacular diving catch against Alejandro De Aza for the first out. Robinson then stole second and rode home when Clark's drive to right center hopped over the wall for a ground rule double, giving Lancaster the lead. Clark took third on a wild pitch and scored when De La Rosa's sinking liner to left eluded a diving try by James Harris.

De La Rosa had also given the Barnstormers a lead in the sixth with a leadoff home run over the high left field wall, his second in his last two games. York countered in the bottom of the inning. Harris singled high off that same wall and stole second. Dundon walked, spelling the end of the night for Lancaster starter Augie Sylk. Garrett Granitz (1-0) and yielded a double down the right field line by JC Encarnacion as the tying run scored. Granitz was able to freeze the tying run at third.

Lancaster's bullpen never cracked throwing three scoreless innings over the remainder of the game, one each by Jordan McCrum, Gabriel Moya and Scott Shuman.

York struck for three runs in the bottom of the second to take the early lead on four walks and a dropped pop fly. A sac fly by Blake Gailen and infield single by Trayvon Robinson brought home two runs in the top of the third.

Sanchez led off the third with a homer, the only hit allowed by Sylk in the first five innings, but the Barnstormers battled into the 4-4 tie with two runs, one on a single by Caleb Gindl.

Tommy Shirley (2-1) will make the start on Saturday against lefty Johan Lopez (0-0). Fans may tune into the Barnstormers YouTube broadcast beginning at 6:25.

NOTES: Gindl extended his hitting streak to 11...Mercedes reached base for the 30th out of 31 starts...Clark has six RBI on his last four hits...Lancaster is 5-2 against York this season.
