
Dazzle Finalize Training Camp Roster with 10 Picks in the 2005 D-League Draft

Roanoke, Va., November 3 - The Roanoke Dazzle took point guard Will Bynum with the number five overall pick in the 2005 D-League Draft. The 6-0 Georgia Tech standout was the first of ten picks total for the Dazzle. With the addition of these 10 draft picks, the Dazzle have now filled their training camp roster.
Bynum, joins the Dazzle after having participated in training camp with the Boston Celtics. Prior to his time in the Celtics camp, Bynum spent 2 seasons at both the University of Arizona and Georgia Tech, finishing his college career at the later. Bynum, earned All-Tournament honors at the NCAA Final Four his junior year with his standout performance during Georgia Tech's run in the NCAA Tournament.
To advance his professional career Bynum will have to move from his customary shooting guard position to the point guard position. Dazzle Head Coach Kent Davison believes "Bynum is a high energy guy" who is "very capable of making the transition to the point." Davison continued on to say "coming from a successful program like Georgia Tech, makes him that much more of a desirable draft pick."
Following Bynum as Dazzle draft picks were Jeremy McNeil (2nd Round), Andreas Glyniadakis (3rd Round), Anthony Grundy (4th Round), Nick Billings (5th Round), Nate Daniels (6th Round), Danny Miller (7th Round), Jermaine Bell (8th Round), Drew Woods (9th Round) and Malik Moore (10th Round).
Jeremy McNeil, joins the Dazzle after being selected in with the number thirteen overall pick. McNeil, played his college ball at Syracuse University, where he finished as the schools fifth all-time leading shot blocker with 260. "McNeil is a player in the same mold as James Thomas, a hardworking defender who goes hard after every rebound."
In the third round the Dazzle selected Andreas Glyniadakis, a 7-1 center from Greece. Glyniadakis, comes to the Dazzle after just participating in the Detroit Pistons training camp. The former second round pick of the Pistons in 2003, has played in his native Greece the past 7 seasons.
The Dazzle returned to ACC country to select former NC State standout Anthony Grundy in the fourth round. Grundy spent the fall in the Atlanta Hawks training camp almost making the Hawks opening day roster. Grundy is well known scouted by Dazzle Assistant Coach Chucky Brown, who is also from NC State.
The Dazzle went big in the fifth round by taking Nick Billings from Binghamton University. The Kodiak, Alaska native finished his college career the second All-Time leading shot blocker in America East Conference history with 336. Billings was named Conference Defensive Player of the Year both his sophomore and junior seasons.

The Dazzle will open up training camp on Saturday, November 5 and their first preseason game against the Fayetteville Patriots happens at the Roanoke Civic Center on Wednesday, November 16 at 7:00 p.m. The Dazzle open the regular season at home taking on the Fayetteville Patriots Friday, November 18. Tip-off for opening night is set for 7:00 p.m.
The NBA Development League includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Fayetteville Patriots (N.C.), Florida Flame (Ft. Myers), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Roanoke Dazzle (Va.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.).
The D-League offers players the opportunity to develop their talent in a highly competitive atmosphere under the NBA's umbrella. Thirty-four (34) players have been called up to the NBA on 50 separate occasions. Eleven (11) former D-League coaches, six athletic trainers, 14 referees and 30 front office executives have also been called up since the start of the league's inaugural season in November 2001.
Designed to help grow the sport of basketball both domestically and internationally, the league also offers fun, family entertainment at affordable prices. The D-League is a source of on-court talent for the NBA's 30 teams and is a diverse human resources pool for the NBA and its teams by training employees in management, operations, public relations, sales and marketing positions.
