Rochester Knighthawks News Release

Dan Dawson lived up to his nickname, "Dangerous Dan," this past weekend en route to National Lacrosse League Offensive Player of the Week honors. Dawson recorded 17 points (5+12) and collected four loose balls in two games in Alberta.

Dawson began the weekend with his second 11-point game of the season in a 15-14 win at Calgary Saturday night. The former league MVP scored three goals and added eight assists to finish one point shy of tying the best single-game point total of his career. On Sunday afternoon, he recorded two goals and four assists in a 14-10 loss to Edmonton.

In his last five games, Dawson has now collected 11 goals and 18 assists. The Oakville, Ontario native is tied for sixth in the NLL with 50 assists and ranks 10th in the NLL with 71 points (21+50). He is currently second on the Knighthawks in both categories.

The Knighthawks (7-8) finish the 2013 regular season on the road with a 7:30 p.m. matchup with their I-90 rivals, the Buffalo Bandits (6-9), on Saturday, April 20th. The game will air live on the CBS Sports Network.

The Knighthawks can clinch a playoff berth and the second seed in the East Division with a win over the Bandits. They can also clinch a berth with a Colorado loss to Minnesota. Rochester would be eliminated from playoff contention with a loss and a Colorado win.
