Davin Bush re-signs with Riders

May 3, 2004 - Canadian Football League (CFL)
Saskatchewan Roughriders News Release

The Saskatchewan Roughrider Football Club announced today they have signed free agent import defensive back Davin Bush. Details of the contract were not disclosed.

Bush has played for the Green and White for the past three seasons and will now be entering his fourth year at halfback in assistant coach Richie Hall’s defensive secondary.

In 2003, Bush made 41 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles and had one fumble recovery. The product of Central Florida grabbed his first interception of his career in Week 4 in Winnipeg on his way to four picks and one touchdown on the season.

Hall said Bush’s ability to stay in the hip pocket of some of the best slotbacks in the CFL is just one reason why the Roughriders were adamant about re-signing the free agent.

“Davin understands what we are doing on defense and is a true athlete,” said Hall, the Riders’ defensive coordinator. “He is another piece of the puzzle we need to have in place if we want to continue to be successful on defense.”
