Davidson Slams Aces to Series Win

FRESNO, Calif. - Reno third baseman Matt Davidson blasted his first grand slam of the season on Wednesday night, en route to an 8-3 Aces victory over the Fresno Grizzlies at Chukchansi Park.

The blast, which came in the third inning, marked Davidson's fifth career grand slam, and the third for an Aces batter this season.

Reno tacked on four more runs on the night, leading to their third series victory of the season.

At the dish for Reno, Davidson went 2-for-4 with five RBI and a run scored. Brad Snyder recorded his second-straight multi-hit game, going 3-for-4 with a run scored.

RHP Matt Wright earned the win in his Aces, debut, giving up three runs on six hits through 5.2 innings, while striking out six. Brett Lorin gave up just one hit over the final 2.1 frames, and was credited with his first save of the season.

Reno now travels to Tacoma for a four-game series against the Rainiers at Cheney Stadium, before enjoying the All-Star break. RHP Mark Serrano (0-0, 1.80 ERA) gets the nod for Reno, while the Rainiers will counter with RHP Brandon Maurer (2-3, 4.37 ERA). First pitch is slated for 7 p.m. PT and all of the action can be heard live on KPLY 630 AM.
