Spokane Indians News Release

Spokane, WA - In an action-packed night at Avista Stadium for 10K's for $10K Night presented by Banner Bank and 103.1 KCDA, the Indians triumphed over the Canadians in 10 innings, and one fan walked away with $10,000.

David Perez

got the crowd fired up early on, striking out five hitters in five innings and allowing just one hit to the Canadians. Lefty Sam Robinson continued the K-filled night with four strikeouts in three scoreless innings, and Matt West sent the stadium into a frenzy with a punch out in the ninth.

Bob and Michelle Olsen from Valleyford, WA won $10,000 courtesy of Banner Bank and 103.1 KCDA. Quoted after the last strikeout, the only word they could say was "WOW".

With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 10th, Hanser Alberto drove in the winning run with a shallow sacrifice fly to centerfield that scored speedy pinch-runner Braxton Lane. Kyle Hendricks (1-1) picked up the victory with a perfect inning of relief.

Zach Cone

hit his first professional home run, a solo shot off the Gus Johnson Ford sign in leftfield, and Jorge Alfaro continued to swing a hot stick with three more hits, giving the catcher 10 base knocks in his last four games.

The win leaves Spokane one game behind Boise in the Northwest League Eastern Division.
