
D'Aversa Replaces Bissonnette on All-Star Team

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that rookie defenseman Jon D'Aversa will replace teammate Paul Bissonnette on the American Conference roster for the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light.
Under contract to Pittsburgh of the NHL, the 21-year-old D'Aversa has nine assists and 10 penalty minutes in 18 games with Wheeling and two points (1g-1a) and two penalty minutes in six games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.
He played the last four years in the Ontario Hockey League where he had 150 points (26g-124a) and 200 penalty minutes in 259 regular season games and 31 points (9g-22a) and 43 penalty minutes in 50 playoff games for Sudbury. He was selected to play in the OHL All-Star Classic and ranked third among OHL defensemen with a career high 50 points on career bests of 13 goals and 47 assists in 67 regular season games in 2006-07 and was second among OHL defensemen in the postseason with 18 points (3g-15a) in 21 games.
Hosted by the Stockton Thunder and the City of Stockton at Stockton Arena, the 2008 Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game presented by Jackson Rancheria and Bud Light will be played on Jan. 23 with the 11th edition of the Chase Chevrolet ECHL All-Star Game Skills Competition being held on Jan. 22.
Bissonnette, who was selected for his second consecutive All-Star Game, is currently playing in the American Hockey League with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton where he has 32 penalty minutes in seven games. Under contract to Pittsburgh of the National Hockey League, the 22 year old has 17 points (3g-14a) and 43 penalty minutes in 22 games with Wheeling.
The Nailers take on the Reading Royals Friday at 7:05pm. They return home Saturday to face the Dayton Bombers at 7:35pm. The first 2,500 fans will receive Joe Zelek mini-bobbleheads courtesy of EMSTAR and WTRF. Then after the game there will be a concert from the Joe Zelek Band.
