Rockford Lightning News Release
Rockford, IL- The Rockford Lightning have their final home game of the regular season on Sunday, March 13, and there will be a strong contingent of Jefferson High School students cheering on the Bolts. Lightning assistant coach Dave Stockton, who is also a history teacher at Jefferson, has made a donation of tickets to the school. March 13 is Fan Appreciation Night, and Stockton has promised one ticket per student, to show his appreciation for the loyalty of the students at Jefferson High School. Jefferson's enrollment is over 1800 students, so that's potentially 1800 fans backing up the Lightning as they end the 2004-05 regular season against Dakota.
"I had such a great year with the Lightning this year, and it's been such a great year for Jefferson students, so I want to give back so that everyone from Jefferson can enjoy a game," says Coach Stockton.
You can join the Jefferson students at the game on March 13 at 7:05 p.m., as the Lightning host the Dakota Wizards in the final regular season home game of the year. It's season ticket "Redemption Night" so bring your unused season tickets to receive a $5 seat for the game. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Rockford Lightning poster, and it is Fan Appreciation Night, with many giveaways throughout the course of the night. To order your tickets, call the MetroCentre box office at 815-968-5222.
