WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (May 8, 2012) - The Dash have partnered with Lowe's and the Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County to help build five houses in the Winston-Salem area Saturday, May 19.

The build will be held from 7:45 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Smith Farm neighborhood near the intersection of Kernersville and Linville Road. Lowe's has provided a grant to fund the cost of building the houses.

Dash players, front office staff, and team mascot Bolt, along with Lowe's corporate and local store employees, will be a part of nearly 100 volunteers who will help build the five houses. Dash fans also have the opportunity to participate in the build and work alongside their favorite players. To volunteer, call Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County at (336) 765-8854.

While physical labor is involved in the building process, volunteers of all ages are welcome. Habitat for Humanity will align certain tasks with each volunteer's preference and ability level.

This is the first time the Dash and Lowe's have partnered with Habitat for Humanity to build houses in the community. The past two years they helped build wall frames to use in local Habitat for Humanity projects. Current Dash pitcher Ryan Buch participated in the wall build last year along with former Dash players Cameron Bayne, Ryan Kussmaul, Tyler Saladino and Austin Yount.

In conjunction with the May 19 build, Lowe's and Habitat for Humanity volunteers will receive a ticket to the Dash game on Friday, July 20. A short video of the build will air at the game.

The Winston-Salem Dash are the Class-A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. To purchase tickets and for more information, please call 336-714-2287 or visit www.wsdash.com .
