Frederick Keys News Release

For the second night in a row, the Frederick Keys mustered just four hits against the Winston-Salem Dash. Frederick wasted a brilliant effort by LHP Zach Britton, as the Dash defeated the Keys 1-0.

Britton pitched seven innings for the Keys, and allowed just one run on four hits. He walked two and struck out seven.

The one run he allowed was in the sixth inning. With one man out, LF Tyler Kuhn worked a walk. He stole second, and scored on 1B Seth Loman's RBI-double.

For Winston-Salem, RHP Miguel Socolovich made his first start of the season. He had previously pitched solely out of the bullpen for the Dash. He tossed four shut out innings, before giving way to LHP Wander Perez. Perez, RHP Nate Jones, and RHP Tyson Corley combined to allow just one hit over the next five innings.

Perez (2-1) was credited with the win. Britton (8-6) took the tough-luck loss, despite having one of his best starts of the season. Corley (3) picked up the save.

The Keys will try to avoid the sweep Sunday afternoon at Harry Grove Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 2:00 PM. It's Sunday Fun-Day at the ballpark. Don't forget your ball and glove because you can play catch on the field before the game. We'll also be celebrating Keyote's birthday. RHP Sean Gleason will get the start for Frederick.
