Winston-Salem Dash News Release

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (July 7, 2014) - The Winston-Salem Dash set a two-day attendance record for their Fourth of July Weekend games against the Wilmington Blue Rocks, with 14,725 fans passing through the gates at BB&T Ballpark.

The contest on Friday, July 4 set a single-game ballpark attendance record of 8,184. That surpassed the previous mark of 7,576, which was set on July 4, 2013, when the Dash entertained Myrtle Beach. Friday's game featured a ceremonial first pitch by new Wake Forest University men's basketball coach Danny Manning, postgame fireworks presented by WilcoHess, a special salute to all military service members in attendance and kids running the bases after the game.

The Saturday, July 5 tilt against Wilmington drew 6,541 fans to the ballpark, completing the new two-day record. Saturday included postgame fireworks presented by Herrera Vineyards and kids running the bases after the contest.

Since BB&T Ballpark opened in April 2010, more than 1.4 million fans have attended Dash games at the downtown facility. Winston-Salem has finished in the top two in Carolina League attendance during each of the previous four seasons.

The Dash continue their seven-game homestand at BB&T Ballpark tonight when the Myrtle Beach Pelicans visit for a four-game series. To purchase tickets, visit wsdash.com or call (336) 714-2287.
