Winston-Salem Dash News Release
WINSTON-SALEM, NC (APRIL 27, 2010) - The Winston-Salem Dash today made several roster moves related to the team's bullpen. Leroy Hunt was activated off the 7-day disabled list, while right-handed relievers Charlis Burdie and Tyson Corley were promoted to AA Birmingham.
Hunt had been on the disabled list since April 16 with an arm injury. Prior to being placed on the D.L., Hunt had a 0-0 record and a 9.00 ERA in four appearances.
Burdie pitched in six games with the Dash, posting an 0-1 record with a 2.35 ERA. He was leading all Carolina League relievers in opponents' batting average, holding hitters to a .087 clip.
Corley appeared in five games for Winston-Salem, registering a 5.14 ERA with no decisions. He was particular stingy in bases loaded situations, holding batters hitless in six at bats with the bases loaded while allowing no inherited runners to score.
The Dash roster now stands at 24 players, one below the Carolina League limit.
Winston-Salem begins a three-game series with the Frederick Keys tonight at BB&T Ballpark. LHP Charlie Leesman (2-1, 3.46) makes his fourth start for the Dash against Frederick's Nate Nery (0-1, 4.91).
The Winston-Salem Dash is the Class-A Advanced minor league affiliate of the Chicago White Sox. For more information, please visit www.wsdash.com .
