Daryl Jones Returns to Edinburg

EDINBURG, Texas---United League Baseball's Edinburg Roadrunners announce today that they have acquired first baseman Daryl Jones from the Amarillo Dillas for a player to be named later.

Jones played in 51 games for the Dillas where he had a .307 avg. and hit nine home runs with 45 RBIs.

He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the fourth round of the 2004 MLB June Amateur Draft where he reached as high as Single A. Jones also played with the Edinburg Coyotes in 2008 when he had a .288 avg. with 11 home runs, 53 RBIs and 32 stolen bases.

It is not certain whose roster spot Jones might take since the team is on the road in San Angelo where he will meet the team. He is expected to be in uniform tonight as the Roadrunners open a four-game series With the Colts at Foster Field.
