Darryl Strawberry to Throw out First Pitch Before Shuckers Game on Friday

BILOXI, MS. - Darryl Strawberry, an eight-time MLB All Star outfielder, four-time World Series Champion who played for the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, San Francisco Giants, and New York Yankees will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and be on-hand for Friday's game between the Biloxi Shuckers and Montgomery Biscuits at MGM Park.

Strawberry, now an ordained minister was a member of the 1986 World Series Champion New York Mets and was a star player for the Jackson Mets in 1982 before making it to the majors.

The 17-year MLB veteran will appear at the Ohr-O'Keefe Museum of Art's "Our Love Affair With Baseball" All-Star speaker series at noon on Friday, prior to his visit to MGM Park.

WHAT'S ON TAP: The Shuckers open the second-half of the 2016 season on Thursday with a homestand that features Double Play Thursday and Parrot Head Night on Thursday, Mr. Intermission Performance on Friday, Post-Game Fireworks on Saturday and McDonald's Family Fun Day on Sunday.
