
Danbury's Collymore and Richmond's D'Alessandro earn weekly honors

LAKE ST. LOUIS, MO--- The United Hockey League (UHL) announced Monday that Danbury Trashers center Shawn Collymore has been named Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week and Richmond RiverDogs goaltender Mike D'Alessandro has been named Southern Sports Supply UHL Goaltender of the Week for the period ending Sunday, March 19th, 2006.
Collymore completed the week with eight points (4g, 4a) and a plus-8 rating in three games played. On Friday, he netted the game-winning goal plus added an assist in the 5-1 victory vs. Roanoke Valley. He scored two first period goals and dished out an assist in Saturday's 5-2 win vs. Roanoke Valley. Collymore recorded his third multi-point game of the weekend when he registered a goal and two assists in the 6-3 win vs. Roanoke Valley on Sunday. The 22-year-old native of LaSalle, Quebec is currently riding a six-game goal streak and has multiple points in each of those six games. He has 40 points (20g, 20a) in 50 games this season and is currently third in the UHL with a plus-41 rating.
Other players nominated for the Sher-Wood UHL Player of the Week include: Adirondack Frostbite center Mark Hurtubise, Elmira left wing Sam Paolini, Flint forward Chad Cavanaugh, Fort Wayne center Colin Chaulk, Kalamazoo center Damian Surma, Missouri left wing Scott Dobben, Motor City forward Peter Szabo, Muskegon left wing Ryan Keller, Quad City center Glenn Detulleo, Richmond forward Evgeny Lazarev, Roanoke right wing Carlyle Lewis, and Rockford center Preston Mizzi.
D'Alessandro finished the week with a 2-0-1 record, a 2.00 goals against average (GAA), and a .947 save percentage (SPCT). On Wednesday, he made 34 saves in the 5-2 win vs. Elmira. He stopped 25 shots in the 5-2 win vs. Rockford on Friday. He made 48 saves in regulation in the 3-2 shootout loss to Fort Wayne on Saturday, including 21 in the first period. The 24-year-old native of Peterborough, Ontario has won six of his last seven starts and has posted a
24-13-2 record this season. He currently ranks tied for second among UHL goaltenders with a .919 SPCT and ranks fourth with 1,367 saves. It is the second weekly goaltender honor for D'Alessandro this season.
