Dalton Prout Recalled, Broc Little Released

Springfield, Mass. - The Springfield Falcons announced Thursday that defenseman Dalton Prout was recalled by the Columbus Blue Jackets, the team's NHL affiliate. The Falcons also announced Thursday that the team has, by mutual consent, released Broc Little from his American Hockey League standard player contract.

Prout, who was loaned to the Falcons Tuesday afternoon, has appeared in 25 games with the Blue Jackets this season, recording two assists, 31 penalty minutes and a -7 rating. In 2012-13, the LaSalle, Ontario native notched seven points (one goal, six assists), 25 penalty minutes and a +15 rating in 28 games with Columbus, while totaling nine points (one goal, eight assists), 73 penalty minutes and a +4 rating in 40 games with Springfield. He also split time between the Blue Jackets and Falcons in 2011-12, suiting up in 62 games with Springfield and five with Columbus.

Little appeared in 20 games for the Falcons in 2013-14, totaling eight points (three goals, five assists) and a +2 rating. The Phoenix, Arizona native played the previous two seasons in Sweden, including the 2012-13 campaign with AIK of the Swedish Hockey League, where he led the team and ranked fifth in the league with 46 points.

The Falcons travel to Lewiston, Maine to take on the Portland Pirates Friday, January 17 at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The team returns to the MassMutual Center Saturday, January 18 to host the Providence Bruins at 7:00 p.m.
