Tampa Bay Reassigns Riku Helenius from Syracuse to Florida

Syracuse, NY - The Tampa Bay Lightning have reassigned goaltender Riku Helenius from the Syracuse Crunch to the Florida Everblades of the ECHL, Syracuse Crunch GM Julien BriseBois announced today.

Helenius, 25, has appeared in five games with the Crunch this season with a 2-3-0-0 record to go along with a 3.43 goals allowed average and .875 save percentage. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound netminder also played in 32 Crunch games during the 2012-13 season but did not appear during the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs. Helenius appeared in one game for the Everblades this season, an 8-1 loss to Gwinnett. The Palkane, Finland native was drafted in the first round, 15th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft by the Tampa Bay Lightning.
