Dallman lifts Bruins to 3-2 series lead

The Providence Bruins and Manchester Monarchs played Game 5 of their best-of-seven Atlantic Division Semifinals series on Thursday night at Verizon Wireless Arena, with the Bruins scoring twice in the third period to take a 4-2 victory. The Bruins will look to close out the series in Game 6 on Saturday, April 30 at 7:05 p.m. at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Providence.

Bruin defenseman Kevin Dallman broke a 2-2 tie on a power play at 1:23 of the third period. The goal was Dallman's third of the series, and second game-winner. Center Patrice Bergeron sealed the win with an empty net goal at 19:54.

Center Brad Boyes broke a scoreless tie at 7:29 of the second period on his first playoff goal, while Keith Aucoin made it 2-0 on a power play goal at 9:55. The Monarchs tied the game with two subsequent second period goals.

Bruin left wing Andy Hilbert had four assists in the game, tying the franchise record for most points in a playoff game for the second time in the series. He had 2-2-4 totals in the Bruins' Game 3 victory. His four assists also tied a single-game playoff record. Hilbert leads the AHL in playoff scoring with 3-7-10 totals in five games.

Providence goaltender Hannu Toivonen made 27 saves for his third win of the series.
