Manitoba pushed St. John's to the brink of extinction with a 3-2 overtime win in Game 4 last night, taking a 3-1 lead in the best-of-seven North Division semifinal... Winnipeg native Lee Goren scored the winning goal on a power play 2:35 into OT, the Moose's second PPG in 25 chances in the series... The game was played before a capacity crowd of 8,812 at the MTS Centre... Clarke Wilm scored twice for the Maple Leafs, his first postseason goals since the 1998 Calder Cup Final.

Cincinnati staved off elimination as Zenon Konopka and Michael Holmqvist scored power-play goals in the final 4:05 of regulation to give the Mighty Ducks a 3-1 win over Milwaukee in Game 5 last night... Shane O'Brien added a goal and an assist and Joffrey Lupul and Ryan Getzlaf had two assists each... For Getzlaf, they were the first two points of his pro career... Ilya Bryzgalov got his first start of the series and made 20 saves for Cincinnati.

Philadelphia got two goals and an assist from Jeff Carter and 40 saves from Antero Niittymaki in a 4-1 win over Norfolk last night, giving the Phantoms a 3-1 series lead... The 20-year-old Carter, who scored at least 34 goals in each of the last three seasons at Sault Ste. Marie (OHL), leads the Phantoms with three goals in the series... Patrick Sharp added a goal and an assist for Philadelphia, his fifth and sixth points of the postseason.

Andy Chiodo made 23 saves for his fourth career playoff shutout as Wilkes-Barre/Scranton evened up their East Division semifinal with a 2-0 win over Binghamton in Game 4... Matt Murley opened the scoring late in the first period, and Colby Armstrong gave the Penguins breathing room with 10:52 left in regulation... Ray Emery made 20 saves in defeat.

Jason Holland scored with 48 seconds to go last night, giving Manchester a big 3-2 win at Providence and squaring their Atlantic Division semifinal at two games apiece... Dustin Brown had a goal and an assist and Mike Cammalleri and Tom Kostopoulos added two assists each... Tomas Kurka and Milan Jurcina scored for the Bruins... Mathieu Garon, lifted from Game 3 after allowing five goals in two periods, settled in and made 24 saves on the night for the Monarchs... Game 5 is tonight (7:05 ET) at the Verizon Wireless Arena, where Manchester is 2-7 all-time in the postseason.

Another pivotal Game 5 tonight (7:05 ET) has Lowell visiting Hartford with their series knotted at 2-2... The Lock Monsters' second line of Ryan Bayda, Mike Zigomanis and Chad Larose has accounted for six of the team's eight goals in the series... Jeff Hamilton has recorded a point in each of the four games for the Wolf Pack (3g, 3a)... Hartford's Steve Valiquette and Jason LaBarbera, the AHL's top two goalies in the regular season, have a combined .943 save percentage through four games.
