Dallas Sidekicks News Release

Allen, Texas (Dec. 6, 2014) - The Dallas Sidekicks (5-1) notched their fifth consecutive win Saturday night, besting the Hidalgo La Fiera 7-3 at Allen Event Center. Fabinho and Jamie Lovegrove each netted two goals, Lovegrove extending his point streak to 22 regular season games.

Despite a combined 19 shots on goal, the first half produced just two goals. Dallas' defense found themselves caught on a 2-on-1 and Irving Tovar capitalized at 8:15. Fabinho's first of the night came with five seconds to go in the half, shooting through a crowd to tie the game at one-a-side going into halftime.

The second half treated fans to eight goals, Freddy Moojen's coming first, the forward fighting off a defender, turning and firing in a shot from the top of the arc. Next it was the La Fiera's turn to tie it up, Alejandro Morales putting in a rebound. A few minutes later Lovegrove put the Sidekicks back up, settling a pass from Carlos Videla and beating Hidalgo goalkeeper Juan Gamboa up high. The Crawley, England native has now scored at least one point in 22 consecutive regular season matches.

The Sidekicks turned up the intensity in the fourth quarter, spending a lot of time in Hidalgo's end and scoring three consecutive goals from Fabinho, Lovegrove and Arthur Ivo. Hidalgo's Morales put up his second of the match at 12:46, and Sidekicks defender Mike Jones sealed the 7-3 Dallas win about a minute later.

As the holiday season and a new year approaches, so does a crucial stretch of Dallas' schedule. The team will play six games during the holidays, including four more in December and one on Jan. 3. By the time 2015 rolls around, the Sidekicks' 2014-15 season will be more half-finished and the team will be looking to make a strong push for key playoff positioning as they seek a fifth indoor soccer championship. Three of the six holiday games will be played at home. Next Sunday the Sidekicks will host the Tulsa Revolution on Dec. 14. This match doubles as the team's holiday celebration with fans, who will have the opportunity to take free pictures with Santa. After consecutive weekends with games on the road, the Sidekicks return to Allen Event Center on Saturday, Jan. 3 to once again host Hidalgo. This match will be a special one for the Sidekicks as the organization will hold its second-annual Dallas Sidekicks Alumni Game at halftime, where former stars, including Head Coach Tatu, will face off in a scrimmage.
