
Dallas Returns All-Star Matt Fraser to Texas Stars

CEDAR PARK, TX - The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has returned left wing Matt Fraser on loan to Texas. Fraser is expected to be in the lineup for tonight's Calder Cup series-opener at Milwaukee.
Since being recalled by Dallas on April 2, Fraser has appeared in nine games and collected two points (1G-1A). He has recorded over 10 minutes of ice time in eight of his nine games during that span. The 6-foot-1 left wing from Red Deer, Alberta, has appeared in 13 career NHL games, posting three points (1G-2A) and earned his first career NHL goal against the Nashville Predators on Feb. 25.
Fraser, 22, finished this past season ranking first in the AHL in power-play goals (17), second in goals (33) and was named to the 2012-13 AHL Second All-Star Team. In 62 games with the Texas Stars this season, he notched 46 points (33G-13A) and finished ranked second on the club in overall scoring. Earlier this season, Fraser was selected to represent the Western Conference at the 2013 AHL All-Star Game. Fraser went undrafted and was signed as a free agent on Nov. 17, 2010.
The Dallas Stars play their final game of the 2012-13 season at American Airlines Center against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. CT (TV: NBC Sports Network; Radio: 1310 The Ticket).
The Texas Stars begin the first round of the 2013 Calder Cup Playoffs against the Milwaukee Admirals tonight at 7:00 p.m. at BMO Harris Bradley Center. Texas will host Milwaukee for Game 3 on Wednesday, May 1st at 7:30 p.m. at Cedar Park Center. Individual game tickets for the Stars Western Conference quarterfinal home dates are on sale now. Tickets may be purchased via Ticketmaster or the Cedar Park Center Box Office.
