
Dajon Mingo Commits to Bowling Green State University

DES MOINES - The Des Moines Buccaneers and Head Coach & General Manager Regg Simon announced today that forward Dajon Mingo has committed to play for Bowling Green State University.
The 20-year-old Detroit, MI native spent last season with in Kenai River and Wenatchee of the NAHL. He appeared in 54 NAHL games and accumulated 21 goals and 31 assists in his time with both teams. This season Mingo has appeared in 16 games for the Buccaneers with 10 goals and 3 assists. He is currently tied for the USHL lead with five power play goals.
"We've seen a great amount of improvement in Dajon's game and I think he'll be a very good college hockey player," said Coach Simon. "If he continues to improve, he'll have a chance to go in and hopefully contribute at Bowling Green right away."
The Bowling Green State University Men's Hockey Team is a Division I School in the CCHA conference coached by Chris Bergeron. They are currently 6-12-2 overall and 2-10-2-0 in the CCHA. He'll join Buccaneer teammate, defenseman Connor Kucera, who is also committed to Bowling Green. Former Buccaneers on the Falcons roster are senior defenseman Andrew Krelove and freshman forward Mike Fink.
With the addition of Mingo's commitment, the Des Moines Buccaneers now have a total of eleven players who have committed to NCAA Division I schools. Michael Shibrowski (Colorado College), Peter Stoykewych (Colorado College), Connor Kucera (Bowling Green State University), Blake Doerring (Vermont), Kevin Irwin (Ohio State), Cal Decowski (Minnesota-Duluth), Justin Selman (Michigan), Chris Joyaux (Ohio State), Ethan Prow (St. Cloud State University), and Mitch Cain (Bemidji State University).
