HOLIDAY JOY: Despite Friday's hiccup against the Team USA-U17 squad, the Indiana Ice is 5-1-0 for the month of December and 7-1-0 in their last eight games. During the club's eight-game stretch, Indy has outshot their opponents in all eight games and outscored them 30-18. Saturday's 2-1 win over Green Bay was a "monster" game as the Gamblers were 11-1-0 against the Eastern Conference entering the contest.

"INTO THE GREAT "WIDES" OPEN": Forward Alex Wideman has enjoyed the month of December as he has points in all six games during the month which includes two goals and five assists. The second-year player handed out two assists in Friday's game against Team USA and scored the team's second shorthanded goal of the year in Saturday's win over Green Bay.

ANOTHER STREAK OR TWO: Joining Wideman on the "streaking" front is forward Brian Ferlin and goaltender Casey DeSmith. Ferlin scored the game-winner in Saturday's victory over the Gamblers and has points in four consecutive games which includes three goals and three assists. DeSmith has won his last five starts between the pipes and is fifth in the USHL in save percentage (.925).

TEAM SALUTATIONS: Blake Coleman had his point streak snapped at eight games on Saturday, but he still has 14 points (6G, 8A) in his last nine games and is third in the USHL in points (28) and assists (18)...Brandon Russo has an assist in four of his five games with the Ice since the trade with Youngstown...Daniil Tarasov has five points (2G, 3A) in his last three games...David Johnstone has points in four of his last five games (2G, 4A)...Will Aide leads the USHL with ten major penalties...Nick Mattson is tied for third in the league in plus/minus (+14)....Indy is first at home in the USHL on the power play (23.9%).

CARLSON REPORT: Former defenseman John Carlson enters the holiday week first among Washington Capitals defensemen in scoring with 15 points (3G, 12A) in 35 games. Carlson was an all-star blueliner for the Ice in 2007-08 after recording 43 points (12G, 31A) in 59 regular season games.
