Baltimore, MD- The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation today announced the return of Dad's Day at The Yard, June 18-20th at the Ripken Baseball Complex in Aberdeen, MD. Twenty-five essay contest winners, ages 10-14, who wrote an essay based on the theme "Why I want to be like my Dad or Father Figure", will attend the event accompanied by their Dads.

The essay contest was open to Boys & Girls Clubs from Maine down to South Carolina, and Georgia. Volunteers from AmeriCorps, a network of national service programs, judged the essays based on originality, relation to theme, creativity and composition.
