May 27, 2021 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Saskatoon Blades News Release

Power-forward Colton Dach, and goaltender Koen MacInnes have earned rankings in the final NHL Central Scouting charts ahead of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft on July 23 and 24.

Dach, the younger brother to former Blade and current Chicago Blackhawk Kirby Dach, has earned a ranking of 19th among North American skaters. This places the 6-foot-3, 205-pound winger third among WHL players, trailing only Dylan Guenther of the Edmonton Oil Kings (5th) and Carson Lambos of the Winnipeg ICE (11th).

The 18-year-old from Fort Saskatchewan, AB put together an impressive 2021 campaign despite dealing with a minor upper-body injury, leading the team with 11 goals and adding 9 assists in 20 games. This includes five multi-point efforts, along with a season-high four points against Moose Jaw in the second last game of the season.

This follows up Dach's preliminary Players To Watch ranking from last October, where he was listed as a "C" rated prospect, indicating either a 4th, 5th, or 6th round selection this summer.

MacInnes enters the 2021 Entry Draft ranked 31st among North American goaltenders - 8th in the WHL. Eligible to be selected for the second straight year, MacInnes started seven games last season and earned a 4-2-1-0 record. The 6-foot-2, 196-pound netminder had the 5th best save percentage (0.912) among East Division goalies, and finished the year with an impressive 2.51 GAA.

The 2021 NHL Entry Draft will be held virtually, with the first round taking place July 23 followed by rounds 2-7 on July 24. The NHL Draft Lottery to determine the first 15 picks will be held June 2.
