
D.C. United Waives Casey Townsend

Washington, D.C. (February 19, 2014) - D.C. United today announced that the club has waived forward Casey Townsend.
"We would like to thank Casey for his time and efforts here with United," said D.C. United General Manager Dave Kasper. "We wish him the best of luck in the future."
Townsend, a native of Traverse City, Mich., joined United in 2013 after Chivas USA selected the University of Maryland product fifth overall in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft.. During the 2013 campaign, the striker appeared in nine games and attempted four shots for the Black-and-Red. In two seasons in MLS, he has appeared in 26 games (13 starts) and scored one goal.
