
D.C. United vs. Getafe CF Pre-season Match to air live on Comcast SportsNet

Washington, D.C. (March 1, 2006) - D.C. United, along with broadcast partner Comcast SportsNet, announced today it will air tomorrow's pre-season match between D.C. United and Getafe CF. The match is set to kick-off at 1:30 p.m. EST (7:30 p.m. local time) and will be shown live from Madrid. Dave Johnson and John Harkes will be calling the game live from Comcast SportsNet's studios in Bethesda, MD.
"We are pleased to bring this international match to our stateside fans," said United Senior Vice President Stephen Zack. "We want to thank our broadcast partner Comcast SportsNet for their extra efforts in helping us air this match."
Currently, Getafe is in 11th place in the 20-team Spanish first division - La Liga. The club's season was highlighted by a 2-1 win over Valencia - one of only three losses the second-place Valencia has suffered this season. Getafe has scored 33 goals and allowed 33, while putting together a record of 8-10-7. Getafe is coached by ex-German international Bernd Schuster.
