D.C. United News Release
CHANTILLY, VA (April 29, 2004) - D.C. United announced today that the team has traded the rights to Milton Reyes to the Dallas Burn for future considerations. Additional considerations will apply if Reyes is added to the 2004 final roster for Dallas.
"We wish the best of luck to Milton going to his new club," said United Technical Director Dave Kasper.
Signed as a Discovery Player prior to the 2002 Major League Soccer campaign, the 29-year-old Honduran international missed the entire 2003 season after suffering an ACL and meniscus tear in a pre-season exhibition against the A-League Richmond Kickers. His last League appearance for the Black-and-Red occurred September 19, 2002. Reyes logged more than 2,000 minutes, starting in all 24 appearances he made for United. He most recently appeared for the Honduran National Team in a Feb. 18th friendly against Lithuania.
Reyes previously played for CD Motagua in the Honduran Liga Nacional (First Division) from 1997-2001. His play in the back helped Motagua capture five tournament championships â both tournaments (the Apertura and Clausura) in the 1997/98 season and 1999/2000 season, and the 2001 Apertura.
