
D.C. United to host DC Jam Sessions

Washington, D.C. (July 30, 2008) - D.C. United announced today it has partnered with HiBall Events, the organizers of Shamrock Fest and Blocktoberfest, to create the DC Jam Sessions 2008. Three music festivals will take place before D.C. United games at the RFK Stadium Festival Grounds in Parking Lot 8A and will feature live music on multiple stages from at least five bands and DJs at each Jam Session.
"D.C. United and HiBall Events have redefined entertainment in the Nation's Capital," said United Vice President of Marketing, Jamie O'Connor. "These events are not just great professional sporting events or just unbelievable festivals. Jam Sessions combine the two to create an unprecedented entertainment experience."
The first two Jam Sessions will be August 23 before the game against the Colorado Rapids, and September 13 before the game against FC Dallas, both starting at 2:00 p.m. and lasting until game kickoff at 7:30 p.m. The final event will be Blocktoberfest on October 4, which will feature 15 bands and DJs starting at 1:00 p.m., before D.C. United takes on Chivas USA at 7:30 p.m.
The Jam & Game Ticket Package is available for $49.99 in advance and includes entry to the Jam Session, food, open bar, all non-alcoholic beverages, activities and amusement games, plus a Premium seat in the TV party section at the game that night.
