
D.C. United to Hold Tryouts for U-11 and U-13 Training

Washington, D.C. (July 6, 2011) - D.C. United announced today that it will hold open tryouts for its U-11 and U-13 Summer Training Program on July 6, 2011 at D.C. United's Training Complex (RFK Stadium Training Fields) at 5:00 p.m. ET.
By the end of the tryout process, players will be selected to participate in the Training Program based on skill level and age. Players must be born between January 1, 1997 and December 31, 1999 in order to tryout.
"There will be a maximum of 50 players in the Training Program, training twice per week with Academy staff coaches," said Pre-Academy Coordinator Tom Torres. "With this supplemental training, we will emphasize technique and prepare players to be identified for future D.C. United Academy teams."
Tryouts for both U-11 and U-13 training programs will take place July 6 on the RFK Stadium Auxiliary Fields. D.C. United Academy staff coaches will conduct tryouts.

July 6 at 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (arrive by 4:15 p.m. please)
The Summer Training Program will be modeled after D.C. United Academy Team training sessions and will emphasize total player development. Players in the training program may have the opportunity to be integrated into current Academy teams throughout the year based on training invitations.
Players attending tryouts should come prepared with footwear appropriate for field turf and shin guards. Balls and water will be provided.
