
D.C. United to auction off game-worn jerseys during October 4 match against Chivas USA

Washington, D.C. (September 29, 2008) - D.C. United and its charitable arm, United for D.C., will be holding a silent auction of 2008 game-worn United jerseys during the match against Chivas USA on Saturday, October 4. All proceeds will benefit United for D.C. and its programs. Jerseys to be auctioned include game-worn attire autographed by the starting eleven, as well as other key D.C. United players. Saturday's game is set for a 7:30 p.m. ET kickoff and will be broadcast on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports en Español.
The silent auction will take place on RFK Stadium's concourse just inside of the Main Gate and will begin when gates open at 6:00 p.m. before the game. Bids on all jerseys will be accepted through the end of halftime. Cash, credit or check payments will be accepted at the auction. All funds raised from the auction will assist United for D.C. with operating its three signature programs: United Reads, Kicks for Kids and United Soccer Club.
