Club Deportivo Chivas USA News Release
CHIVAS USA HITS THE ROAD FOR BATTLE WITH D.C. UNITED THIS SATURDAY: Just four games remain in the regular season for Chivas USA, who now hit the road for two straight matches, starting this Saturday at D.C. United. The match will be played at 4:30 p.m. PT (7:30 p.m. ET) and will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel and Fox Sports en Español. The Red-and-White are currently in second place in the Western Conference with a 10-10-6 record (W-L-T), good for 36 points. Though the top three teams in the division automatically qualify for the playoffs, the Red-and-White need to continue the recent run of good results (four wins in the past six games), as the team leads the Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake by just two points, and FC Dallas by three points. After the D.C. match, Chivas USA will face the San Jose Earthquakes on the road on Oct. 11, followed by a pair of home games on Oct. 19 against Colorado, and Oct. 25 against the Western Conference-leading Houston Dynamo. For more information, or to purchase tickets for either of the two remaining regular-season home games, please call 1-877-CHIVAS-1 or visit www.cdchivasusa.com.
RED-AND-WHITE EARN FOURTH WIN IN FIVE GAMES WITH 2-1 VICTORY OVER KANSAS CITY: Newly acquired Chivas USA midfielder Sasha Victorine struck against his former team with a goal and an assist in the Red-and-White's 2-1 win over the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday night at The Home Depot Center. Victorine helped set up Alecko Eskandarian's 26th minute goal that gave Chivas USA the 1-0 advantage, then doubled the lead with a strike of his own from 20 yards just before halftime. A goal in the 70th minute from Wizards forward Josh Wolff wasn't enough for Kansas City, as the Red-and-White improved 10-10-6 (W-L-T) on the season and regained second place in the Western Conference. It was also Chivas USA's fourth win in the last five games, improving the team's record to 4-1-0 (W-L-T) in that span.

INJURY UPDATE: ZOTINCA, GALINDO RETURN TO THE FIELD FOR THE RED-AND-WHITE: A pair of Chivas USA players returned to the field from injury this past Saturday against Kansas City, as defender Alex Zotinca made his 2008 first-team debut, and forward Maykel Galindo appeared for the first time since Aug. 14. Zotinca started the match at right defender, playing his first minutes of the season after undergoing ACL reconstruction surgery in March after injuring his knee in preseason. Galindo, recovering from sports hernia surgery, played the final 13 minutes of the match, his first action since the Aug. 14 Super Clásico against the LA Galaxy. Also in the match on Saturday, forward Ante Razov left the game after 30 minutes with a lower leg injury; tests on Monday will help determine the extent of the injury, and more information will be available later in the week. Keith Savage scored the other goal for the Red-and-White, who came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to earn the team's second win of the season and improve its record to 2-3-3 (W-L-T) on the season. Galindo's goal was a 30-yard screamer that found the top corner, and newly signed midfielder Dejair also played well, assisting on Savage's goal.
