
D.C. United Teams with Univision Washington for Third Year

Washington, D.C. (April 19, 2005) - For the third consecutive year, D.C. United, in partnership with WMDO Univision Washington, announced plans to broadcast a weekly 30-minute Spanish-language TV program throughout the 2005 Major League Soccer season. D.C. United en Accion will air every Saturday from 10:00-10:30 a.m. ET. The premiere episode will be shown on Saturday, May 7, prior to the Black-and-Red's match that evening versus the Columbus Crew.
"We are excited to partner once again with WMDO Univision Washington to offer our Hispanic fans continued access to our players and staff via this show," said United Vice President Stephen Zack. "Along with our weekly Spanish-language radio show, this television program is further proof of D.C. United's dedication to our Hispanic fan base."
Hosted by long-time WMDO Univision Washington sports anchor Oscar Burgos, the show will bring fans the most comprehensive, in-depth D.C. United soccer news, with features, game analysis, and interviews with coaches and players. In addition to his work with WMDO Univision Washington, Burgos is also the host of Palco Deportivo, a daily sports program, airing weekdays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on 1420 AM, Radio La Campeona.

D.C. United en Accion joins La Tribuna del D.C. United, the newly extended hour-long weekly Spanish-language radio show that airs Wednesdays at 1:00 p.m. ET on WZHF Radio Continental 1390 AM, in providing weekly analysis and insights for United's Hispanic audience.
